As a skin care professional, we are wired to look for the new and cutting edge tools to create a transformative experience that lasts long after the treatment, to reach beyond the layers of skin and touch the soul. The real change is an inside bob. Clients may be engaged with a series of facials or massage, but the goal we try to project is holistic wellness post session.

The anti-aging market has long been considered a booming business, and the past few years have seen a notable shift in how aging is viewed. The hot topic for many of my clients is melanin, or pigmentation as a mark of age.
Of course, fine lines and wrinkle are the old standbys of anti-aging vocabulary, and they continue to be of concert to clients worldwide. However, current research indicates that uneven skin coloring – specifically, the blotches and dark spots on the face, décolleté and hands, which is the classic indicator of UV exposure and hormonal shifts – now matches or even surpasses concerns about skin smoothness and texture.

Nufree “wax” is the next generation of hair removal… for starters, it’s not actually wax.
When our spa gets requests for male or women hair removal, we want to be able to offer our clients the best new products and services.
We have clients who want to be smooth all over, including intimate areas (beneath the bikini line or briefs for men). We get many clients asking about Brazilian waxes and swear by them, but because many have sensitive skin, we added the Nufree system.

When we think of sweet potatoes, we think of fries, pie or those wonderfully Thanksgiving dishes. Contrary to the belief that if something tastes good it certainly can’t be good for you, the sweet potato is packed full of nutritional power – even if it’s laden with sugar and baked in crust.
One of the oldest vegetables known to humans, this hearty, adaptable pant is thought to have originated in Central or South America; Peruvian sweet potato remnants have been found that date back as far as 8000 BCE.

Women aren’t the only ones who want to look and feel fabulous. Do you remember when wearing a pink shirt was a bold statement for a man? I remember my first Lacoste polo shirt and that was back in the 80’s! Well guys, a shift in attitude is happening in male skin care and the use of professional skin care services. Men are visiting spas, skin care facilities and medi-spas for a wide variety of services, and now there are so many skin care products specifically designed for men’s thicker skin.
Now is the time to take advantage of popular treatments for men, (including peptides, collagen and elastin treatments) hair removal, microdermabrasion and chemical peels. Check our list of services, and our facility directed for men. Men want to feel and look younger and attractive without sacrificing masculinity. We know the term “SPA” traditionally my not shout “masculinity,” but our place of business is a great “man cave” where men can take care of these objectives.

Alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs)
– Fruit acids found in plants that remove dead and damaged surface cells through exfoliation, making skin appear smoother and feel softer. They may help the appearance of fine lines. Other types of alpha hydroxy acids include glycolic acid, lactic acid, madelic and malic acid.

Hold the anesthesia! So says the aging client of today. Indeed consumers are turning away from traditional (invasive) face-lifts as they become increasingly aware of the potential for longer term side effects associated with such procedures. Others don’t want to deal with post-operative downtime, to mention the high cost involved.

All About Skin Spa, we create an escape from the hectic pace with the aid of soothing background music. We started this music concept when we opened our spa in March 2015. Our clients can chose from a variety of nature-inspired sounds, including crackling fire, thunderstorms and ocean waves to smooth jazz, to create a stress-reducing environment. “Our customers can also supply their own music on their iPods and we put it into our speakers”.

What’s a lasting gift you can give this season? From Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day we all spend a lot of time thinking about others, leaving very little time for yourself. As a skin care coach, let me make this holiday season less stressful. If you or someone you love are busy going from social functions, working, or shopping you may need a “QUICK” hydrating facial in the middle of his or her day. At All About Skin, we offer a shorter time frame treatment, (usually 25-30 minutes), and we address one concern very well. You or that someone in your life will leave seeing and feeling a difference immediately.
